CT RIVER VALLEY: Identifying Policy, Systems, and Environmental Changes to Improve Food Access
Many of us notice how hard it is to make choices that support our health. While most of us know that choosing to eat more fresh produce can improve our health, it can be harder to identify the ways that our political, social, and built environments make that choice more or less possible. Income inequality, the unequal availability of fresh produce, and how our neighborhoods are built are all examples of ways that our policies, systems, and environments influence our eating choices.

Join Healthy Hampshire, leaders in your community, and the Mass in Motion technical assistance team to learn how to identify policy, systems, and environmental changes that can increase everyone’s ability to eat a healthier diet. During this session, we will:

>Present frameworks that will increase your understanding of policy, systems, and environmental change
>Focus on health data for your region and how it connects to food access challenges in your community
>Give you tools that you can use to go from identifying a challenge to figuring out policy, systems, or environmental solutions to that challenge
>Help you think through the players involved in implementing specific policy, systems, and environmental changes
